Voice of Things

Nobuyuki Takahashi, from Nagoya, Japan, presents Voice of Things– an installation in Mercer Union’s back gallery of over 200 household products, including bottled drinks, cleaning liquid, soy sauce, soup, and detergents. These bottles are hooked up to electrodes and manipulated to generate subtle electric currents, which in turn function as a power source for a series of audio buzzers.

Please note that, contrary to the brochure listing, the opening is Friday, June 2nd, at 8pm. Clive Murphy presents an artist’s talk at 7:30pm on the same evening.
