The Twain Shall Meet
Through his site-specific window installation, The Twain Shall Meet, David Bobier continues to illustrate the evolution of communication among and between deaf and hearing people. The window installation contains wall illustrations of hands signing the names of five pairs of deaf and hearing people who, through their historic relationships, have fostered the advancement of the deaf community. The sound element, which can be heard outside of the gallery, on King St. west, is the sound of the artist using the accompanying TTY machine to produce the exhibition text.
David Bobier has exhibited extensively in Ontario and nationally. His most recent solo exhibition, Signing On, was organized by the MacIntosh Art Gallery and toured to the Thames Art Gallery, the Kitchener/Waterloo Art Gallery and the Glenhyrst Art Gallery.
