Rene: Therefore I Am
Beth Learn has been creating computer-generated graphic text layers since the early 1980’s. Through software such as Paintshop Pro, Compupict, Photoshop and Corel, Learn has mixed weaved and produced image/text interface to create a number of web/”book” projects. The first “book” to come from her investigation was released in January, 1998. Part of the book sources the major works of Rene Descartes within variously transmuted photo imagery of Blackie Lawless of W.A.S.P. This work is entitled Rene: Therefore I am… The work reproduced in the brochure is from Rene.
Beth Learn is a multi-media language artist and web designer. She is the founder/director of learn/yeats and co. website and the Editor/Creative Director of Cabaret Vert Magazine of experimental language arts etc. Working under the name learn/yeats and co., she continues to investigate the parameters of language field theory (Contexturalism).
This work has been known as the alice springs projects and has been exhibited, published/reproduced and performed as a creative science adventure.
