Project Room:
Leaving room for movement and making room for movement
I am surprised in the space where people meet, surprised we do not knock into each other.
Patterns or beliefs and behaviours leave room and make room with the help of others, subtly going back and forward following order between orders and ordering acts of finding placement, while still existing alongside others, balancing and reinforcing the crowd among the group within the individual. Accumulated powers reinforce the individual’s identities and the identity of community.
It is indicative of my personal practice to employ discarded photographs of people I don’t know. I have been collecting photographs from the garbage at my local photo store. I use images of people in groups who in all likelihood were unaware that the photographer was taking the picture.
Clint Griffin was born in Ontario. He has been involved in curated group exhibitions at Gallery 44, Meg Gallery, The Robert Birch Gallery and a solo show at Bus Gallery.
