Jennie White

East Gallery:

Jennie White's paintings of a deforested landscape endeavor to effect language, to be sensual objects articulating emotions and thoughs. Yet there is no hand-wringing angst to these panoramas, rather a sort of sly stillness, or a stubborn patience that may or may not be justified. By merging elemental images with intensely tactile planes, White strives for the emergence of symbols with extreme physical impact which entice the viewer into direct contact with the work.
