Mercer Union is please to present Imbalance.3, presented in the new series In the Window at Mercer Union. Imbalance 3 is part of George Bures Miller’s continuing series called Simple Experiments in Aerodynamics. In the long narrow window space, an antique chandelier is randomly catapulted along an 18 foot path casting erratic shadows throughout the space. Comic and carnivalesque yet dark and psychotic, this work continues Miller’s explorations of gravity, balance (physical and psychological), magnetism, electricity, light and darkness.

George Bures Miller has had solo exhibitions at the Walter Phillips Gallery (in collaboration with Janet Cardiff) , at the Southern Alberta Art Gallery in Lethbridge; A.K.A Artists’ Centre in Saskatoon; Galerie Clark, Montreal and Plug In Gallery in Winnipeg. His work has also been included in groups exhibitions such as Press/Enter at The Power Plant, Toronto; Aujourd’hui la vidéo, part of “Recontres Internationales de la Photographie” in Arles, France. Miller currently works and lives in Lethbridge, Alberta.
