Every Dog in the Pound

Meg Cranston is an artist, curator, writer and professor. Born in New York in 1960, she now resides in Los Angeles. Her work has been shown internationally since 1988.She received an M.F.A from California Institute of the Arts in 1986 and a B.A. in Anthropology/Sociology in 1982. She also attended the Jan van Eyck Akademie in Maastricht, The Netherlands. She is a Professor at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. She has been the recipient of grants from the Penny McCall Foundation, The John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, The Anonymous Was A Woman Foundation and the J.Paul Getty Trust. Her work is the subject of the forthcoming book, Hot Pants in A Cold Cold World published by Artspace/Clouds and JP Ringier. Exhibitions of her work at the Dundein Public Art Gallery and the Getty Museum of Art will run concurrent with her exhibition at Mercer Union.
