Wyrd Visions at Mercer Union
Friday 7 December, 9PM
FREE
Colin Bergh’s Wyrd Visions will take you on a psychedelic journey through a dark forest filled with droning elven music. Using repetition as its base, Wyrd Visions is essentially stripped down trance music. Songs are composed of chanting and ostinato guitar melodies that reference Scandinavian trollmusik and psychedelic drone. Wyrd Visions performance at Mercer Union will showcase new songs played on a double-necked baritone guitar.
Wyrd Visions debut EP Half-Eaten Guitar came out last year on Toronto-based Bluefog Records, and was the acclaimed supporting act for Final Fantasy and Grizzly Bear’s tour last spring. Wyrd Visions also set the tone for designer Jeremy Laing’s spring 2006 runway show at New York Fashion Week.
