Mercer Union is getting typographical! Dan McCafferty (M.Des) will be leading the Resource Group for Recent Grads in a one-day workshop on the foundations of well-crafted typography and page design. As recent grads becoming emerging artists, we make a lot of our own posters, invitations, booklets, portfolios, websites, and multiples. This workshop will introduce artists to many of the historical, technical and conceptual considerations of working with digital typography and page layout in order to produce their own self-generated promotional pieces.
Helpful things to bring to the workshop: laptops, exacto knives, scissors, cutting mats, rulers, images, Illustrator/InDesign files (to discuss or tinker with), previous ephemera and any other materials you’d like to work with.
