Mercer Union presents Mercer Living, a fundraising auction to support its 2002/2003 programming year of the work of emerging Canadian and international artists. The fabulous Stephen Ranger of Ritchie’s Auctioneers will auction 51 exciting worked for the home and office. Artists participating include Kim Adams, James Carl, Massimo Guerrera, Spring Hurlbut, Jay Isaac and Brad Phillips, and Nestor Kruger. Designers and architects participating include Architects Alliance, Michael Awad, Johnson Chou and Steffanie Adams, Petra de Mooy, Barr Gilmore, John McKinnon, and John Shnier.

Co-chair of the event, Xandra Eden remarks, “The concept of Mercer Living comes from an evocative, albeit irrational, comparison between Martha Stewart Living magazine and Bruce Mau’s Life Style. In looking at these two divergent attitudes towards life and living in the 00s, we began to wonder how the practical and theoretical considerations of urban living would come together through an exhibition in Toronto.”

Mercer Living is sponsored by AZURE, I.D. Aprint Inc., The Martini Club, Bacardi, Bombay Gin, UMBRA, Exclusive Affairs, Dufflet’s Pastries, Stephen Ranger, Ritchie’s Auctioneers, the Drake Hotel and the Atlantic Development Inc. and Continental Saxon. Special design packages by UMBRA will also be raffled at the event on Saturday.

Mercer Living will take place off-site at the Queen Richmond Centre located at 111 Queen Street East between Jarvis and Church Streets.
