Main Gallery
Mercer Union is pleased to present Jin's Banana House
Performance in conjunction with Asian Heritage Month. Jin's
Banana House ongoing performance work is based on three
different
writing approaches; fictional autobiography, cultural
parody and non-sensical writing. The performances cover
issues such as identity, self representation and cultural transference. Jin's FLAVOUR OF THE DAY; IN SEARCH OF THE ORIGINAL BANANA COWBOY conveys a story about a man who embraces clichés and yet seeks to understand the complexities of the power structure and his surroundings.
Jinhan received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia
College of Art and Design in 1993 and has since exhibited his
work in DYS- a group show at YYZ in 1995, the Red Head Gallery
showcase, 1995, and at the Pleasure Dome - Open Screening at
CineCycle, 1995.
