Nicolas Fleming focuses his research on the presence of the visitor in the exhibition venue by creating immersive environments, which praise construction materials and recall temple-like pavilions. Fleming holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Arts from Concordia University (2001) and a Master’s Degree in Visual Arts from The University of Quebec in Montreal (2007). He has shown his work in several artist-run centres and galleries in Canada, including L’OEil de poisson, Quebec City (2016), TYPOLOGY, Toronto (2015), Maison des Arts de Laval, Laval (2015), Trois Points Gallery, Montreal (2013, 2015), Axeneo7, Gatineau (2014), McClure Gallery, Montreal (2013), and UQAM Gallery, Montreal (2006). Other projects include a large-scale outdoor installation for Aires Libres Festival, Montreal (2014) and his first monumental drywall-based architectural installation for his solo exhibition at ISE Cultural Foundation, New York (2014).
