Mercer Union, A Centre for Contemporary Visual Art, is an artist-run centre founded in 1979, committed to the presentation and examination of contemporary art and related cultural practices. Through its programming, Mercer Union seeks to engage the complex mixture of Canada's and especially Metro Toronto's many diverse communities. Through an extensive range of activities that include exhibitions, artists' talks, panel discussions, lecture series, video screenings, performances, publications and special events, Mercer union is committed to presenting work which challenges traditional assumptions about art and culture.
